Life on earth is fueled by the light and heat from the sun. There are about 3850 zettajoules (ZJ) every year of solar power to the earth. The suns energy travels to the earth by way of electromagnetic radiation like radio waves but the frequency range is different. Much of this solar energy will be absorbed by the air, mostly turned into heat and light. Solar energy has many advantages over conventional energy. The energy from the sun is free the only expense is from recovering the energy. Recently solar photovoltaic cell technology is on the rise.
You will recover the cost of a solar power system faster than you will recover the expense of conventional power. Recovering units do not need to be connected to gas lines or power lines. They are intended to work by themselves. The supply of solar energy is limitless. It has no emission gases to harm the earth’s atmosphere. There are several ways to recover solar energy: Focusing collectors: The movable mirrors are known as heliostats. They are intended to follow the sun in the sky, and can produce temperatures as high as 4000 degrees Celsius. This is the temperature used for solar furnaces. These furnaces don’t emit any form of pollution, and are now widely used in research labs and industrial facilities.
The heliostats can focus the energy to a boiler that turns water into steam. To generate solar energy, focusing collectors can be used.
Flat plate collectors: These solar panels can be used in schools and homes to provide heat using water that is heated in pipes. Since they are not as large, they will provide less heat than focusing collectors. Solar distillation: Solar distillation uses an apparatus similar to that used for power generation, but the flat plate collectors provide purified water instead.
Sea water is put on the roofs of homes on a tank or ditch and the sun heats and evaporates it and the water vapor turns into liquid distilled water. Solar electricity: By using focusing collectors and Photovoltaic cells, made of thin pieces of semiconductors, convert radiation from the sun into electricity. Solar energy would not be affected by the supply and demand of fuel for it is free and it doesn’t polute the atmosphere. It is unprocessed and unadulterated. It would engender in us a generally higher level of fitness. Together, there are a multitude methods we may implement to achieve optimal output of natural and renewable resources.
Going with solar energy is motivational to others who want to make a difference. Solar energy is cheaper than heat, electricity and gas. Even with the low up front cost of gas and electricity, you will end up paying more in the long run. With solar power you may have an initial investment to turning your home into solar power but after that you have no reason to pay for it any further, unless you use electric or gas for a back up heating source. solar energy is evergreen source which is sure not to vanish at least until the extinction of human beings on earth
