My pal Edgar came over from Ireland because his business was highly profitable ih England, and decided to live up in Yorkshire where homes and offices were cheaper. That makes sense I said ‘but you might find it a bit cold.

He found that obtaining that was in a bad area in the city. In fact this was Leeds, so some of these office blocks have a lot of history, as they were built in the beginning of the Industrial Revolution.

My friend Doug’s office was Victorian, with high ceilings and sash windows, which are difficult to modernise, and wooden floors. sound building, probably last for for a 100 years. At that point, he was all set to get his stuff shipped in, when I reminded him that he would be better to get it refurbished, and not do anything else first.

My pal Edgar was pretty familiar in using people to do maintenance in the Dublin area on his business, whether he needed building repairs, carpentry and joinery or an electrician, so he was happyquite surprised to find how good these guys in Leeds were – in fact, he reckoned they were as good as in Dublin. However, later on he still complained it was cold.
